Eating at commons makes me realize how much I want to cook my own food. Although, I did have some yummy indian inspired fish and beans for lunch, but they were both dry. Damn cooking in bulk. But then I had a spicy spicy summer roll afterward so it was all good. Then of course my sister was talking about how she is making thai green curry for dinner and now i am hungry again. Why, oh why do I have so many conversations around food? I think I just need to go to cooking school and get it over with.
So now for music shtuffs. I have been listening to this song over and over ever since I saw An Education. If you haven't seen it, go see it. It is so good. The music, the fashions, the parisiennes, everything.
"Smoke Without Fire" - Duffy
Also, to wrap up this post I just wanted to share the crazy wit that is my sister. When talking about the new title of my blog, she began to come up with alternatives...
This is what she wrote me:
"You can write about non-jews--> "goy america"... or men... "boy america"... or fun things... "toy america"
going to war.. "deploy america"
asain food
"bok choy america"
people bugging you
"annoy america"
ancient greek wars
"troy america"
debbie downers
"killjoy america"
stupidity
"doy america"
(I realize that one is pushing it a little)
milk-substitute
"soy america"
czech greetings
"ahoj america"
slightly flirtatious evasiveness
"coy america"
fake-outs
"decoy america"
land of blagojevich
"illinois america"
having fun
"enjoy america"
feeling violent
"destroy america"
happiness
"joy america""
diversion
"ploy america" (this one was mine)
And there you have it. I love her.
I feel like I should end each post with an oy america comment? No? Yes? Maybe? Well I think the previous conversation sort of covers it. But I will leave you with this image.
This is Stephen Colbert's proposed poster for the 2010 Winter Olympics:
